Community Unit School District 300 is an exceptional school district in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL. In the 2013-14 school year, over 6,000 students attended Hampshire, Jacobs, and Dundee-Crown High Schools, and that number grows every year. A great majority of students attending these schools are female, and they are subject to a ridiculous and pathetic dress code that oppresses and hypersexualizes the female student body of these schools.

There is definitive proof that this dress code is unfair towards females. On Facebook countless people have shown their outfits that were deemed inappropriate by their school's administration. Some were as simple as a tank top to harmless pictures like Mickey Mouse. It's time to take a stand against these unconstitutional policies. I'm calling on District 300 officials, D300 students, and Illinois State Representatives who represent areas of D300 in Springfield to take action and give females their dignity and expression back.
