Stop Testing On Animals, Buy/Make Cruelty-Free Makeup!

The Issue

As a child, everyone loves animals, we sing the songs, read the books, and listen to stories dedicated to them. But as we get older we forget the beautiful innocence of these animals. Animal testing happens all over the world, more often than one would think. Many of the most popular makeup test on animals like, MAC Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, Maybelline, Revlon, Bobbi Brown, L'Oreal, and Covergirl. In the year 2016, there is no need for animal testing as there is a plentiful amount of cheaper, more accurate and morally ethical alternatives. So please join me in my pursuit to have MAC stop testing on animals.

Up until 2012, MAC was on the PETA no-cruelty list (which is a list that supports and promotes cruelty-free brands). They did not sell to China until late 2012. By then they had to start testing on animals because China requires animal testing on all beauty products, even though there is no real need to (Gohil “MAC Cosmetics: Stop Testing on Animals, and Stop Using Animal Products in Your Cosmetics”). Many of the most popular and widely used makeup brands test on animals. They are makeup brands like MAC, L’Oreal, Dove, Revlon, Maybelline, Clean and Clear, Pantene, and TRESemme. Animal testing for cosmetic reasons is unethical, cruel, and unnecessary; humans do not need to use animals for our own vanity and narcissism.
