Bollywood fans are requesting the cancellation of the show Koffee with Karan. A show that normalizes harassment and bullying against other celebrities but targeting mostly outsiders.

We know the bollywood industry is a family. But we, as fans, and as much as we love the industry, we can’t keep a blind eye about what is going on behind the scenes. We know it’s ugly for some and with the recent news, it can end in a horrible way. And we do not want that. Not anymore. Enough is enough.

Koffee with Karan is supposed to be a family, entertaining show but how can we keep watching a show that normalizes harassment ?  How can we stay blind and laugh when a celebrity makes fun of another because he or she is an outsider or a tv actor ? We can’t and we won’t, no more.

Koffee with Karan is the top of the iceberg of what’s wrong in Bollywood :

- The mistreatment of outsiders and women.
- The glorification of abusers, violent men against women.
- The harassment and bullying of their counterparts.
- The humiliation of outsiders by refusing to invite them on show, pretending they don’t fit for the show until they achieve what they think is acceptable for them.
- Forcing the guests to answer very private questions to humiliate them or someone else.

Cancelling the show will be a symbol for the change needed in Bollywood.

We want outsiders to be treated equally with the star-kids. A star-kid is not more important or better than an outsider. We want the ending of harassment and bullying towards outsiders and that they should have a fair and equal chance as star-kids.

We want the ending of the normalization and glorification of harassment whether it’s toward outsiders or women in the industry.

Bollywood is a family business and it should be a place where you can love, hope, dream big and is a safe place. Not a place that humiliates others because of their family or professional backgrounds that will make them feel like they worth less than others.

We, the creators of the petition, swear that we will support outsiders and women and will try to make sure the industry is a safe place for them, as fans and humans.
