Karan Johar, one of the leading directors of Indian film industry, has recently directed a movie, GUNJAN SAXENA, which revolves around the officer of the Indian Air Force. Many of the scenes in the movie focuses on the misbehaviour by male officers to the woman officer, which in reality is not even close to the reality. Any male officer of the Indian Armed Forces knows how to behave with fellow woman officers and they do it with utmost dignity and respect! The values and training imbibed in the officers also includes, that a woman, irrespective of her profession is to be treated with unparalleled respect. It is said that even the Chief stands up whenever a young officer’s wife enters a room. This is applicable to all women.What ever is shown in the movie is misleading and will create a false opinion about our forces in the mind of the people globally. In India, movies play a very important role in everyone’s life and can lead to strong belief and disbelief about any aspect. In times, when the country needs more people to join the armed forces, movies such as these will not only demotivate the youth of this nation to serve the country but tarnish the image of our Armed forces. Our soldiers work day and night to safeguard our country on land, sea and air and movies produced by such immature so called celebrities is an insult to their sacrifices.
