On. January 1st, 2016 Tennessee enacted the Animal Abuse Registry. Tennessee is the only only state that has enacted this registry but yet, animal abuse and neglect happens all over the. United States. As an animal lover I have started this petition to present to Kansas Congress to enact the same Animal Abuse Registry here in Kansas. Many states have a branch of the ASPCA that their one and only purpose is to rescue animals from owners that have abused or neglected their animals. These animals are given a second chance by being removed from the dramatic situations these animals are living in, given the proper medical attention they are so desperately in need of and adopted out to forever, loving homes. Here in my area of Kansas we do not have this type of animal rescue community service. Animals are abused and neglected constantly but have no protection against the abuser. Enacting this Animal Abuse Registry is a necessary tool we as an animal loving society need to help protect these animals and ensure they do not get adopted out or rehomed to anyone that has been found guilty of any type of animal abuse or neglect.
