Justice for Marina

Justice for Marina
The Issue
Marina Bischoff has not been seen since May 28th. Marina was a social worker who dedicated her life to helping others. Her friends and family deserve answers, and Marina deserves to be found and brought home if possible. If she has passed, we deserve to be able to put her to rest and seek peace.
Marina was taken into police custody the evening of May 27th, 2020 at Shoal Creek Patrol Division in Kansas City, MO; the police released her in the early morning hours; she was eventually caught on tape walking away from the station at 7 a.m. the following morning with no cell phone, no wallet, no keys, and no glasses; the last time she was seen (reportedly by an officer to the news) was wandering nearby at 8:30 a.m.
The police need to answer questions about her disappearance, including who she called from the police station prior to her leaving.
Partial human remains of a woman’s body were found by a 10 year old boy on the banks of Shoal Creek on July 6th, not far from where she was last seen. The police have given a time frame of 6 to 9 months in getting DNA testing and results on these remains to determine if they are, in fact, Marina’s body.
Our requests are:
1) Expedite: That the police department request that the DNA testing on the remains later found near the station be expedited by the FBI.
2) Transparency: That the police provide answers around her disappearance, including taking steps to determine the numbers she reportedly called before leaving the station, and other requests from the family around video footage.
3) Minimize Potential Conflict of Interest: The fact that she was last seen in police custody indicates an inherent conflict for the police who are currently responsible for determining how and why she went missing and if something has happened to her. If the police releasing led to her disappearance and possible death, it would be better for the local FBI office to take over the case.
