The Kano stae government in Nigeria filed a death sentence charge against Wasila Tasiu 14, for killing her husband Umar Sani 35 and three of his friends.

 Wasila poisoned her husband 17 days after marrying him and three of his friends in the process. She did the only thing she could after people around her refused to listen to her plea, they turned a blind eye to a despicable act. This unfortunate incident was a last resort and a cry for help and she has since expressed deep regret for her actions.

 This should serve as a lesson to the government, it should push them to ban the marriage between children and adults. However, in Wasila's case it has driven them to to seek for her death. They want her killed for a crime which was the fault of her family, her society and the government themselves.

 When i read about Wasila's plight i knew something had to be done and fast. No 14 year old should be faced with the kind of fate she is about to encounter. Children should be nurtured and protected not abused and ultimately condemned. 

 Let us all rise and come to the aid of a girl child. Fisrt her innocence was stolen and now her life is on the line. The Kano state government must be pressured into withdrawing the death sentence charge filed against 14 year old Wasila. The federal government of Nigeria must get involved in this.
