The recent floods in Chennai, though classified as natural disaster, the possible main reason for huge water in our area, sholinganallur-semmenchery, is man made.

At the medvakkam-OMR link road, the canal is 40 m wide which gets reduced to a meagre ~10 feet near DLF chennai in sholinganallur-semmenchery area. This could primarily be because of the road that has been laid before the PSBB millenium school. 

Along with this the entire chain of canal interconnections from tazambur to thoraipakkam-ECR has not been linked up or dug deeply or widened enough. 

Request the concerned authorities, Madam R. Gajalakshmi and Madam Amudha, to take this up on a high priority basis.

Failing to do this will affect at least 100000+ families in the IT Corridor area and the most coveted IT industry in the very near future.
