On June 9th KCHA seized 22 cats that were ill and being treated by a rescue volunteer. To date, due to not wanting to treat the foster cats, 11 were euthanized. 6 were returned to Raleigh County Humane Society who has been sited for unsanitary conditions and overcrowding and were these cats got sick from to begin with. The five personal cats of the volunteer are now being held with no treatment despite the fact the volunteer gave them medication to treat with. The cats are allowed to be moved to a vet but can't be due to the shelter's refusal to allow vetting. They have now added on to the cost owed to ensure the cats have no money for boarding either. Please help us get these cats vet care!
