Yesterday, I received the following email from HubPages: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107889574670988423996/posts/PUWXQpkqrf9 And the first thing I noticed was that it is sent via "amazonses.com". All the previous automated emails from HubPages were sent to me via "editor@hubpages.com". Notably, there is nothing in this email that helps other writers reclaim their identity, tax information, user information, or deserved earnings. Furthermore, it still appears to be a phishing attempt since HubPages is suggesting I click a link and enter a verification code. (A code that I believe "seals a deal" for HubPages, somehow). At best, it simply allows me to publish my previous work (held on Amazon servers) on either my blog or InfoBarrel. My guess here is that Amazon doesn't want either the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) on their case. And truthfully, after 1.5 years, my work has been scraped to death on HubPages. This platform is notorious for it. Of course, there is zero mention of paying me, even though a year ago (02/21/2015), I received notification that my work had been read 10,000 times: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107889574670988423996/posts/JXPtJcmvMCw Apparently, this alone is worth approximately $50, according to an authoritative author on HubPages: http://www.infobarrel.com/Dear_Google_and_PayPal_HubPages_Is_Undermining_You Now, in my previous petition updates, I combed the HubPages' revised privacy policy: https://www.change.org/p/kamala-harris-hubpages-writers-are-entitled-to-all-earnings-and-removal-of-their-author-content/u/15368218 In essence, any information (including SSN) that you submit is "at your own risk". Even though, in order to receive earnings, you need to surrender your tax information (SSN)! And HubPages cannot offer any guarantee that your information is protected from others (or that they do not "misuse" it). Gee, considering the IRS determined HubPages does NOT need your tax information, this is pretty scary (and deceptive). What's more, according to this HubPages forum thread: http://hubpages.com/community/forum/135212/its-as-if-the-squidoo-import-never-happened "The site has reduced by 238k hubs and 35k hubbers." Wow, that is 35,000 people that probably submitted their SSN (and possibly DOB) in order to get paid. On the black market, that would net $55 to $41 dollars for each person's SSN and DOB (date of birth) – somewhere between $1,435,000 - $1,925,000. It's a chilling thought, and one of the demands in my petition: that YOU are able to remove your personal information (esp. SSN and DOB). This isn't over, far from it. I'll be in touch, Rose
