Neuigkeit zur PetitionPaul Edmondson: Writers are Entitled to ALL Earnings, Removal of Content & Author ContentHubPages Quantcast Data and Correlations

During the past two weeks, I've noticed a spike in views on two key blog posts: Paul Edmondson: Will HubPages Be Sold? http://roserightswrongs.blogspot.ca/2015/10/paul-edmondson-will-hubpages-be-sold.html and especially on my post Can the HubPages' Editbot Fool Google and the Public? http://roserightswrongs.blogspot.ca/2015/09/can-hubpages-editbot-fool-google-and_20.html
And around January 20th, 2016, the Quantcast data for HubPages took a nosedive. Check it out here: https://www.quantcast.com/hubpages.com?qcLocale=en_US#trafficCard
Oddly, when this was mentioned in the HubPages' forum (10 days ago), no staff member bothered to chime in. And there has been 45 posts on that thread so far: http://hubpages.com/community/forum/134940/quantcast-embedded-code-messed-up-somehow
Notably, this apparent "crash in US traffic" appears to be negatively impacting the US rank for HubPages (which now stands at 205). This would be most worrisome for site owners, especially those who market themselves to a US audience and (more importantly) to US advertisers.
Well, today I read that some Hubbers are unable to edit their older articles: http://hubpages.com/community/forum/135060/unable-to-edit-older-hubs
I have a theory about what may be going on. I think HubPages has taken on new owners and/or partners. I think data has been sold, moved, or hidden. I DO fear that content has been sold – especially older pieces. And I have a hunch that the buyers are outside of the US.
Why this bothers me? Because here is where YOUR user information may be fetching the highest prices. Yes, your tax information (especially your Social Security number and date of birth) may have become entangled in this mess.
And I'd like to point out that those who have bullied me throughout this case are people who do not reside in the US. These people do NOT have a SSN to protect, do they? People such as: Marisa Wright & Gordon Hamilton, Stephen Parkin, Writer Fox, Making A Mark, Neosurk, and others.
Yet, some of those people appear to have a huge influence on others. In fact, writers would rather NOT sign my petition, risk the loss of their income and their identity just to remain "friends" with these people. I find this shocking, actually.
On January 28th, Krebs on Security wrote an eye-opening piece titled FTC: Tax Fraud Behind 47% Spike in ID Theft: http://krebsonsecurity.com/2016/01/ftc-tax-fraud-behind-47-spike-in-id-theft/
And last week I posted another reminder in InfoBarrel's forum: http://www.infobarrel.com/forum-topic.php?id=13395
My petition is not "all about me" (as some – like 2labz – would like to try and paint it). It's about protecting fellow writers, their deserved income, and their identities. I'd like to see our charities get back some money and help the residents of Flint, Michigan too.
I'll be in touch,
Rose
Addendum: Just as I was finishing this update, I noticed in the HubPages forum thread: http://hubpages.com/community/forum/135052/persona-paper-is-shutting-down that Paul Edmondson stated: "We won't lose interest. Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for some news:)"
Gee, I won't be the least bit surprised if HubPages has new owners.
