This petition is to bring attention to the use of K9’s for taking down suspects. It’s abuse. These animals are trusting us not to put them in harm’s way. It’s just not right. I’ve always said humans don’t deserve dogs, and this is the perfect example of why.

Now, I can understand using them to sniff out drugs or a missing person but they should not be allowed to be used to take down a suspect. It’s not fair to the dog when they put so much trust in us as humans.

Couldn’t we do better about training our officers? Don’t we need reform anyway? If consent is so important among us humans, why then are we allowing this with animals that can’t consent?

We have to stop putting animals in harm’s way. It’s the responsible thing to do. I’m not saying we shouldn’t rely on their help at all, I just don’t think it’s fair to put them in harm’s way when they are so innocent and so unexpecting of potential harm. 

Dogs are brutally injured and killed every day because of the situations police are putting them in. Why aren’t we putting more focus on police reform? Please join me and sign this petition to stop using dogs in this way.
