They must realize that they will be required to perform their duties in the clinical laboratories and interact with other health care professionals. They must be competent, knowledgeable and reliable.

The absence of an internship in the curriculum of BScMLS in Kenya leaves a lot to be desired,and it is imperative (rationale backed and based on the above reasons) that degree holders embark upon a compulsory one-year internship before registration,and licensing by the regulatory body concerned with the practice of medical laboratory science in Kenya.
