K-40 request to FIDE Chess
The Issue
The K problem is a common occurrence among chess players. The World Chess Federation (FIDE) offers K-40 to children until they reach the age of 18, however if an adult begins their chess career, FIDE only grants K-40 for the first 40 games. As a result of this disparity, reaching master level as an adult is extremely difficult. Even in a realistic sense, increasing one's chess elo becomes extremely difficult. If an adult wishes to become a GM after his K is decreased to 20, the number of GMs produced will often be less. Due to the tremendous competition and K disparity, even reaching 2000 FIDE rating would be extremely difficult.
I urge that FIDE give all chess players K 40 till they attain the elo of 2000.
Thank you.
