Aloha kākou,
We are calling on our community, ʻohana, and allies to stand up for East Maui’s wai and submit testimony TODAY in SUPPORT of 168 HR & HCR178
This resolution urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources to prioritize a water set-aside to the County of Maui, helping restore local management of our public trust water resources.
Hearing Date: March 31st
Submit Testimony: https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov
For generations, East Maui streams have been diverted—drying our loʻi kalo, disrupting ecosystems, and contributing to the loss of Hawaiian farming practices and ʻike kūpuna.
Our water is currently being controlled by large, non-Hawaiʻi-based corporations, while our local communities continue to fight for access to what should be protected as a public trust resource.
This is another moment to restore balance.
Time is limited—submit your testimony TODAY and help us uplift this effort. Share with your ʻohana, friends, and networks.
E mālama i ka wai. E mālama i ka ʻāina. E mālama kākou.
