Canadians are suffering daily from COVID-induced anxiety resulted from Joblessness escalate,the possible loss of loved ones, the prospect of a deep and lasting recession (regardless of the economic policy measures taken by the Government), school closures which impact our kids’ educational future. Above all,exposure to the COVID-19 news affects our mental health negatively, as well. Many of our kids will require psychological consultations after the crisis ,to recover from inevitable depression.

In 2003, SARS virus originated in a wildlife wet market in China. Not only did the Government of China fail to ban or supervise these markets, it also passed supportive legislation to promote them across China, which created more opportunities for the virus to mutate into SARS-CV-2. SARS might have been an accident, but the COVID-19 worldwide outbreak is the result of a negligence in legislation and a lack of regulatory measures for wildlife trade in China.

As a Canadian citizen, I request the Prime Minister of Canada to express Our deep concern to The Government of China to  enforce a permanent ban on wildlife markets ,as they act like ticking time bombs for lethal pandemics. The  Government of China must act responsibly to prevent future pandemics.
