Supporting the Canadian High Commissioner and others championing democracy in Guyana

Supporting the Canadian High Commissioner and others championing democracy in Guyana
The Issue
The purposes of this petition are: (1) to express appreciation and gratitude to H.E. Lilian Chatterjee, Canadian High Commissioner to Guyana, Canadian Ambassador to Caricom and Suriname, and (2) to request continued support from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and all advocates of democracy to help ensure that there is credible recounting of the ballots of the March 2, 2020 general elections. We wish to let the Prime Minister know that we fully affirm and support the positions taken by the Canadian High Commission in Guyana – especially with regards to freedom, democracy, and free and fair elections – values which are deeply sacred and treasured in Canada and the rest of the free world.
We overwhelmingly support the position of Canadian High Commission which made it possible for the CARICOM observers to attend the recounting of the votes of the elections which were held since March 2, 2020. We are also pleased that the High Commissioner has joined with other diplomats such as U.S. Ambassador, the United Nations Resident Representative, the British High Commissioner, the EU Ambassador, the Commonwealth representatives and the OAS team in condemning the attempts to steal the elections through fraudulent methods.
