Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Honorable Members of Canadian Senate: We, as compassionate individuals and members of humanity, are writing with much urgency to request the ban upon the Canada Commercial Seal Hunt. Throughout the decades and still continuing even in this present time, the seal slaughter within the country, has become more than just a mere empty shell of what it once was --- it has cost millions of innocent lives through inhumane and barbaric actions, and with the support from the Canadian Government, has also cost millions of dollars in subsidies and financial distributions (using taxpayers money) in the hopes of reviving, defending and promoting this unnecessary and dying industry -- while giving extreme false hope to those involved that the industry is still and continuously viable, which makes absolutely no economic sense. Even as we write to you this letter of request, over thousands of individuals - including organizations and celebrity endorsements, are fighting with great dedication and determination to spread awareness, protest and the united efforts in attempts to finally open the eyes of those of political power and influence within Canada to make the necessary and imperative stand and steps to not only remove themselves from this controversial pursuit and inhumanity, and finally pull the plug on the life support, that the Canadian Government has generated on this mass seal slaughter. So with such concerns/issues and questions arising internationally, along with decreasing markets of seal imports and countless world bans, it has created the ultimate and strong question as to why you, the Canadian Government, still financially back and support the proceedings and expansion of this dying industry in which holds absolutely no future? With your participation and support -- we can finally take this historic step and opportunity to end this commercial seal hunt, and create new and humane solutions that will benefit our country, restore the damaged reputation due to the allowance of this industry, and foster a kinder and more compassionate world in hopes that other countries will follow. We believe in Canada and it's Government to make the imperative and right choice --- and with such choice, save and protect the innocent lives of seals, establish possible solutions (commercial sealing buyout), and support through contributions & participation to alternatives.
