Opening the CAN/USA Border for Property Owners

There are many people in BC and other parts of Canada that own recreational property in the USA. None of these people could have planned for or anticipated the COVID-19 pandemic and the lengthy border closure that followed. As a result, they have not had the opportunity to properly and safely close their properties down.
The concerns of the owners are for such things as perishables which have been left for such a long period , correct shut down or closure of utilities, securing of personal assets that have been left exposed and of course, proper locking-down of the properties for safety and security reasons.
What we need to see is an "exception" for those people who can prove to border officials they have property in the USA and allow them to cross the border to attend to their properties. All those who cross of course realize they will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their return to Canada. This is clearly understood and accepted.
All we ask is that we be permitted access these properties now, not for recreation, but instead to do what is needed to properly prepare, close and secure them for a potentially continued lengthy term.
