My name is Chelyn Graziano and I was treated unfairly and unjustly at a local gym and was not accommodated for my hearing impairment when it came to the COVID19 protective measures. Why is it that I am not being accommodated for a disability that I was born with and one that can be so easily accommodated? 

Reading lips is integral to the deaf community. Hearing aids assist with hearing but do not necessarily compensate the loss of hearing. Therefore, we greatly rely on lip reading to communicate. I am here to suggests that all workplaces make it mandatory rule to have face shields in store for those who are disabled and need to be accommodated. Those with disabilities thrives off of lip reading and I truly believe that in order to make the public an inclusive environment, we need to take these steps. In a country that pride's itself on inclusion, being deaf and having a hearing impairment or any other disability should not be excluded. The Covid19's pandemic's restrictions in the public are tough in of itself, but to further exclude the deaf community is a tragedy. This is disheartening and rather disappointing. I know that we can make change by making a difference.
