With the new legislation called bill c-21, almost all airsoft guns will be banned in Canada. The new bill redefines airsoft guns as a prohibited device because they shoot under 500 feet per second and  are made to look as replicas to real fire arms. Under their new criminal code, law enforcement would have the authority to confiscate any airsoft guns that would be defined as prohibited if they wished to do so. A way that this can be overcome is by changing the definition of a prohibited device so that it does not change the status of airsoft guns to prohibited. The bill could possibly change it so that airsoft guns could have more strict regulations before banning it all together. Not only is airsoft a fun sport to play with friends at a local airsoft field, but it can also serve as a training device for the military and/or law enforcement. If bill c-21 is passed, then the sale and trade of airsoft guns would become illegal, almost making airsoft banned all together.
