It is very simple: We believe that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should not meet with President Donald Trump in light of many issues regarding human rights and decency. Some examples include: gagging the EPA, pushing the building of wall between the US and Mexico, silencing Parks and Recreations, issuing the Global Gag Rule, and vilifying immigrants. Though it might be necessary to retain decent relations with the US government, it is also necessary that Canada be a leader in promoting positive world politics. Justin Trudeau should stand up publicly and refuse a personal meeting with Donald Trump, to demonstrate his own (and Canada's) committment to human rights and decency.
