Approve visas for Elsa's siblings to visit before it's too late
The Issue
Elsa Nega is a mother of 2 young children, who has Leukemia. Her only chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant. Being Ethiopian, her chances of finding a match are very slim. As her condition deteriorates, she needs help looking after her family.
Elsa's sister and brother in Ethiopia would like to visit Elsa in Vancouver, and help the family in their time of need. Gelila and Mikayas have applied for student visas, have been accepted by Langara College, paid their fees and have the means to live here during their visit. Their visas have been denied, even after judicial review.
On humanitarian grounds, we feel that visas should be granted to enable the family to come together before it is too late.
