Hace un mes, en vísperas de la navidad, despertamos con la notica de que sin razón, injustamente y cargos fabricados, la juez, Mirtala Portillo, declaró orden de arresto contra Rubén Zamora. Un ciudadano constitucionalista, dirigente político, exdiplomático, y, ante todo, luchador por los derechos humanos, la dignidad del pueblo salvadoreño, la justicia socio-económica y por la paz en El Salvador.
La respuesta local e internacional no se hizo esperar, más de 7,250 personas de más de 41 países, han firmado la petición “Justicia para el Dr. Rubén Zamora”. Esta petición fue entregada a la fiscalía el 22 de enero, 2024. Además, la defensa de Rubén ha sometido una petición que se desestime la orden de arresto. La respuesta del régimen ha sido un silencio frio.
Es necesario continuar la campaña de firmas y exigir que se respete el derecho a la libertad y vida del Dr. Zamora.

A month ago, on the eve of Christmas, we woke up to the news that, without reason, unfairly and fabricated charges, the judge, Mirtala Portillo, had declared an arrest warrant against Rubén Zamora, a constitutionalist, political leader, former diplomat, and, above all, fighter for human rights, dignity for the Salvadoran people, socio-economic justice and for peace in El Salvador.
The local and international response was immediate, more than 7,250 people from more than 41 countries have signed the “Justice for Dr. Rubén Zamora” petition. This petition was delivered to the prosecutor's office on January 22, 2024. In addition, Rubén's defense has submitted a petition to dismiss the arrest warrant. The regime's response has been a cold silence.
