My name is Zacharia Brewer and I created this petition on behalf of my husband Khalique A. Brewer. I received this letter on the 07/14/2023. He has been dealing Sexual and Verbal abuse in the Michigan Department Of Corrections since he entered in 2014. He was a minor housed with adults , they did not protect Khalique. Khalique was raped by 2 inmates in Jackson Michigan . When Khalique reported to the Corrections Officers he was told “ this is prison you’re going to grow up fast!” Khalique was then transferred to Lapeer, Michigan where he was sexually abused by a Corrections Officer named Elmer. Elmer abused Khalique Brewer on several occasions. He reported the event to “Daniel Bills” he was an Arus there. When Khalique Brewer reported the situation to staff he was called a “SNITCH” . Due to him not wanting to deal with the abuse anymore they antagonized him. 
Khalique Brewer was transferred to Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility where they made it hard for him to receive the proper medical treatment. 
Khalique Brewer was transferred to Carson City Correctional Facility where he is experiencing sexual abuse from a Correctional Officer Named Bohen.  
Bohen says things like “go have sex with other inmates!” He would also say “ Your my boyfriend”  Bohen has planted contraband in response to Khalique Brewer because he would not engage in sexual acts with Bohen. 
Bohen has conversed with other inmates to have Khalique Brewer stabbed saying “he is a snitch”. Khalique Brewer reached out to the Warden , Arus , Inspector , Lansing,Mi (Captiol) Heidi Washington and he has had no response ! In Khaliques Brewers words he said she deals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to all the neglect by those who are supposed to protect him. Khalique DOES NOT FEEL SAFE AND IS ASKING FOR HELP FROM ANYONE!

 

Khalique Says :

It’s time to change our prison system and the corrupt officers! IF YOU KNOW ANYONE ANYONE OR HAVE ANY LOVED ONES DEALING WITH SIMILAR ISSUES SPEAK ON IT . You never know what your loved one is dealing with behind closed walls!!

On July,12,2023 Khalique was antagonized by Bohen and Officer Odell. Even with an open investigation going on Carson City Corrections allowed Officer Bohen to still be around inmates. I emailed the Wardens , Gov Whitmer , and The Internal Affairs. I was told they would make sure Khalique is safe. They failed doing that. July, 12,2023 Bohen went to Khalique’s Cell and said “ f*** your dead niece Khalise Lynn Brewer !” “He said several other hurtful , disgusting things ! Khalique defended himself and was beaten by officer Bohen and Odell . As some of the witnesses described “ Khalique was slammed on his face and beaten with cuffs on” then was placed in a restraint chair and sent to the hole! I have not heard from Khalique MDOC has blocked me from receiving any calls from the prisons. 

THE 8th AMENDMENT WAS VIOLATED!! The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution protects against imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments.

I have reached out to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer , The MDOC Internal Affairs , NAACP , Fox17 , NewsChannel8 , The Wardens Of Carson City Correctional Facility , The Victims Rape Line, when Will he get the Justice he deserves not to mention since the March 2020 ONE Attorney’s office received over 415 cases of Prisoner Sexual Claims . With Khalique Brewer being one of them. Money can not buy back the SANITY , hurt , pain, and the scars that Khalique will never forget! JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED !!!
