On April 7th 2024 Earlric (Sheldon) was shot and killed in sunnyslope/Phoenix Arizona. His killer Adolfo villalva (a convicted felon) was apprehended at the scene and is currently being charged with manslaughter reckless in the second degree and possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor. Our family and friends along with many other members of the community have concerns regarding the homicide investigation and the possible sentence that can derive from the current charges as they stand. 

Earlric was just beginning to experience the young teenage era of his life. He was merely weeks away from his 8th grade promotion and just 2 months away from turning 14. There will be no Precious memories of sheldon walking across a stage for his promotion or of him blowing out his birthday candles while we all sing off tune. Instead I'm left with the horrific last memories of my precious child that will haunt me forever. The memory of me pulling my son out of a car where he was left all alone,The memory of being the last person to hold my son's faint pulsed body will now flash before my eyes until the end of my days. Earlric (Sheldon) and victims alike deserve to have our judicial system and it's appointed officials hold criminals accountable for their actions to the fullest extent of the law. 

In Maricopa county we have seen criminals walk free or serve lenient sentences of little to no imprisonment for violent crimes including homicide, who go on to commit other violent crimes including homicide. This leads to new victims and a repetitive cycle of immense trauma and agonizing heartache for our community. A criminal case against Alex Martinez Reyes who shot and killed 17 year old Mathew bustellos May of 2023 is one of the many cases in which our judicial system has failed to serve justice for victims and our community. The Charges against Reyes were subsequently dropped due to the prosecutor not having enough evidence for a conviction. As a result, Reyes was released and went on to commit another homicide. He was arrested again in August of 2024 for the stabbing death of 35 year old Gabriel Trejo and is currently being charged with Murder in the Second degree. 

I urge all members of my community to join me in this fight to seek Justice for All that have fallen Victim to this epidemic of unprecedented Violence. Time and time again the Maricopa county judicial system has failed the community in not serving justice for victims and their families.
