First Nations readers are advised this update contains names and images of people who have died.
This week, we marked the one-year anniversary of the needless death of our son, Ricky ‘Dougie’ Hampson Jnr. To continue our fight for #Justice4Dougie, we went to the hospital that discharged him to call for answers and change.
Since Dougie passed away, we haven’t lived our lives. For his family, every day is heartbreaking. We sit at home, we look at his photo, and we cry. We just don’t understand what happened.
We already have thousands of people standing with us, and if we get to our next goal of 15,000 signatures, we can put more pressure on decision-makers to establish an inquest into Dougie’s death.

Our fight is not just for Dougie, but for all First Nations people – we deserve to feel safe when we go to a hospital. We need change.
Thank you for your support,
Ricky Hampson, father of Dougie.
