Vincent Sheldon Jones 30 years old was shot 2 times in the chest by his wife’s (Wallace "Lacee" Jones) lover, Jeremy Christopher Abbott.  Vincent & his wife were recently separated, however that is no excuse for what happened on Monday July 22, 2019 in Commerce, Texas. 

It was a typical summer day in Texas when this tragedy occurred.  Vincent was picking up his 4 year old daughter for a visit when he arrived to his wife and her lover on the front porch of a friends house where Wallace was staying.  A witness who has yet to be questioned by the Commerce Police Department that was on the scene stated when Vincent arrived he was happy because he was there to pick up his daughter, he was only there briefly when he loaded his daughter in the car.  As they were leaving Jeremy Abbott said something to Vincent as if he was taunting him this clearly upset Vincent as it would anyone in this situation.  The same Witness reported that he was still there outside with Wallace & Jeremy when Vincent left upset, headed to the park with his daughter.  Only about 1 minute later Vincent arrived back at the house, and got out of the car while his daughter remained in her car seat.  The eye witness stated Jeremy put his hand behind his back Insinuating he had a weapon and the eye witness said to him "I wouldn't do that".  Jeremy Abbott replied, "don't worry I don't have a gun it’s in the house".  As Vincent approached Wallace and Jeremy, the eye witness said Vincent Looked perplexed.  The same eye witness said he then left the scene.  To date this witness has never been questioned by the Commerce Police Department, although he was the last person to see Vincent alive.  Wouldn’t this be a key witness in this case? 

An unarmed man lying in a pool of blood inside the doorway of where his wife and lover were staying together; Vincent was shot 2 times in the chest with apparent kill shots. 

Occupying the residence of the shooting was the tenant of the home and her two year old daughter which were also present at the time of the murder.  During the altercation the young child was in a close enough proximity where the blood of the victim splattered on her.   

Vincent's daughter was waiting in the vehicle in her car seat for her dad to return and take her to the park, how horrific this must of been for these two young children.  

The lead investigator on this case Steve Scott has shown biased against the Jones family in the past on several occasions.  Therefore, we believe this is a case of POLICE BRUTALITY by retaliating by not moving forward with this case.  

Family and friends are asking Commerce PD for the opportunity for a fair investigation and to bring justice for Vincent. 

More Interesting Facts about this Cover-Up 

1. Only two days prior to Vincent's murder two witnesses went to visit Wallace Jones at this same residence.  There was a cabinet to The right of the door & Wallace reached to the top of the shelf pulled out a 9mm Smith & Wesson Black & Silver & said to them she had something for Vincent if anything happened.  These two witness filled out An affidavit stating these facts and have yet to hear back from Commerce Police Department.   

2. The police investigation has not shown any progression over the past 11 months, when Vincent's family contacts the department for information they are ridiculed and made to feel as though this has been swept under the rug.  

3. There are social media posts that incriminate the perpetrators through their own words, as well as deleted messages by Wallace on Facebook Messenger, which can also be retrieved.   

4. Phone records will also incriminate the perpetrators through prior texts between Vincent and Wallace. 

5. Vincent's family suffers from trauma each day that passes due to the lack of concern, compassion, and justice Commerce Police Department has shown to the family.  

6. Photo's collected by CPD support Vincent did not force entry into this home, there was no damage to the door.   

7. Vincent was UNARMED 

8. Jeremy Christopher Abbott is an ex-cop & believed to been discharged from the United States Military.  

9.  A key witness the last person to see Vincent alive other than the perpetrators has still yet to be questioned. 

10. Facts in this case indicate a discrimination by the Commerce Police Department against the Jones family due to past encounters within the community, which again would have nothing to do with this case.  

11. One of the witnesses to the murder was told by a detective from the Commerce Police Department to change her wording in the statement she gave.  

12. It is also believed that Jeremy Abbott's parents own a military store in another neighboring county of Commerce, Texas.  

13. The last eye witness to see Vincent alive was NEVER questioned. 

14. The crime scene was never secured, people continued to come & go as if it were a normal day.  The tenant of the home described it in their own words as “People kept walking past and no one was guarding the house”.  Referring to the time after the incident occurred. 

15. This was NOT Jeremy Abbott’s residence! 

16. Jeremy Abbott was a police officer for a few months in Delta Co Texas in 2011 & released with not eligible for rehire status. (This was obtained through open records) 

17. There was a witness statement made that confirmed Wallace (Vincent’s wife) asked two different people to help kill the young mother of Vincent’s now 1 year old son.  This statement was given to the lead detective on this case also. 

18. Less than a year later Wallace is married to her husbands killer & pregnant with his child. 

Wallace "Lacee" Jones and her lover left town shortly after this murder and the family is now estranged from her and Vincent’s daughter.  Can you imagine this young child had to witness her daddy that she loves so much get murdered by a man that has now filled the father figure in her life? 
This innocent child is also being deprived from seeing the only family she has ever known.    

We ask PLEASE help us to get this case investigated, to get answers for this family, and most of all to bring Justice for Vincent Jones.  We will continue to fight for the obstruction of justice by the Commerce PD.
