Victory! NSW Government commits to Child Sexual Offence Evidence Program

Dear supporters, some of you might have already seen the incredible news - the NSW Government has committed to making the Child Sexual Offence Evidence scheme a permanent program in NSW. This wouldn’t have happened without your support. Thank you for signing and sharing this petition, for writing to the Government and speaking up for survivors of sexual assault.

Thanks to you, child sexual abuse victim-survivors in NSW will not be subjected to the same re-trauamatising processes by the legal system. Instead, under the program, children are able to “prerecord their evidence and are provided with intermediaries to assist them during police interviews and hearings.” All young people impacted by sexual abuse will be able to access the program.

Now it’s time for other Australian states and territories to also lift their game.
