Cool FM and Downtown radio are launching a petition to bring in stalking legislation to Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is currently the only region in the UK or Ireland without specific legislation on stalking. The only protection victims have is 20-year-old harassment laws. We need to bring in better laws so perpetrators face the full force of the law and receive an adequate sentencing for their crime. With the rise of technology and social media, it's easier than ever before for people to stalk and harass victims. We need a law that is up to date with our changing society.
