Justice for the Wisconsin 9!
The Issue
NINE WOLVES BELIEVED TO BE FROM THE SAME PACK WERE TRAPPED AND KILLED IN WISCONSIN. 🐺💔
This family of wolves did NOT harm anyone. They did not even threaten anyone. They were killed because they did not immediately flee when humans were nearby. They didn’t leave when hazed, not because they were a threat, but because they were urban adapted. Animals adapted to human presence are urbanized, not threatening. An entire family was trapped, likely by leghold traps, then shot. And the remains sent to Indigenous peoples as an apology to them? This killing was cruel to the wolves and an offence to the Indigenous people. They revere wolves and do not approve of them being killed. https://www.wpr.org/news/9-wolves-killed-by-federal-officials-northern-wisconsin-after-threatening-behavior-humans
Instead, the state should work with wolf rights organizations like Project Coyote and Women for Wolves.

Federal Wildlife Services killed nine federally protected wolves in Price County after officials labeled their behavior a “human safety” concern. No person was attacked. Wisconsin DNR states there has never been a documented case of a healthy wild wolf attacking a human in Wisconsin. 💔💔💔
Officials say the wolves had become habituated to people and nonlethal deterrents were attempted. But trapping and killing nine wolves from a single pack is a horrifying outcome. We NEED answers.

SAY: “I am outraged by the killing of nine federally protected wolves in Price County. I am demanding transparency about why nine wolves were killed and stronger nonlethal measures to ensure this never happens again.”
Please be respectful, but be LOUD. Wolves cannot speak for themselves. We can. 🐺
