Every day in India, animals are tortured, mutilated, and murdered — and their killers walk free.

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 is a 64-year-old law. It is outdated, toothless, and offers no real protection to animals.

We, the citizens of India, demand urgent change:

Make animal cruelty a non-bailable offense
Introduce minimum jail time of 3–5 years for acts that cause injury, trauma, or death
Set up fast-track courts to handle animal cruelty cases swiftly
Ensure police must file an FIR when a complaint is lodged
Animals cannot speak, but we can. We must.
