Justice for the Stolen and Abused Cat in Morecambe/Lancaster
The Issue
I, as a volunteer for Lancaster and Morecambe Cat Rescue, am deeply disturbed by a recent incident involving the theft and cruel treatment of a defenseless cat in our community. This petition aims to urge the Morecambe/Lancaster police to conduct a thorough investigation into this heinous act of animal cruelty and bring those responsible to justice.
Personal Story:
As an avid supporter of animal welfare, I have dedicated my time and efforts to rescuing and caring for cats in need. It breaks my heart to witness any form of harm inflicted upon these innocent creatures who rely on us humans for their well-being.
Recently, a video surfaced on social media depicting an appalling act of cruelty towards a cat. The distressing footage not only caused immense mental anguish to those who viewed it but also highlighted the urgent need for action against such despicable acts.
Criminal Act Prohibition:
Under existing laws, it is clear that exhibiting or distributing cinematograph films that involve causing suffering to animals is strictly prohibited. The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Section 32) explicitly states that it is an offense to cause unnecessary suffering or permit others to do so. By sharing this video online, individuals involved may have violated this law.
Theft of Innocence:
In addition to the cruelty inflicted upon this poor feline, we must not overlook the fact tha tthe cat had a rightful home. Pet theft is not only traumatic for both animals and their owners but also contributes significantly to illegal activities such as dogfighting rings or breeding farms where animals are exploited mercilessly.
Call for Action:
We demand that the Morecambe/Lancaster police take immediate action by launching a comprehensive investigation into this case of animal cruelty and pet theft. It is crucial that they dedicate sufficient resources towards identifying those responsible and holding them accountable for their actions.
Furthermore, we urge the police to collaborate with local animal welfare organizations, such as Lancaster and Morecambe Cat Rescue, to ensure a thorough examination of the evidence and provide support in reuniting the stolen cat with her rightful owner.
By signing this petition, we stand united against animal cruelty and theft. We demand justice for this innocent cat and seek reassurance that our community will not tolerate such acts of violence towards animals. Together, let us send a clear message that cruelty to animals will not go unpunished in Morecambe/Lancaster area
Please join me in signing this petition to compel the Morecambe/Lancaster police to take immediate action against those responsible for this appalling act of cruelty and theft. Together, we can make a difference and ensure justice is served!
