Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and kept this issue alive. Because of your voices, this petition has reached far beyond what any of us expected.
Here’s where things stand today:
• We’ve passed 185 signatures. Every single one of you has helped push this into the public eye.
• Major news outlets have picked up the story. Local stations, national outlets like Newsweek, and even British papers have covered the concerns raised here. This level of visibility matters.
• The Florida Attorney General’s Office has confirmed it is assisting with a possible criminal investigation. This is a significant development — but it is not an outcome. It means the issue is being looked at, not that anything has been done.
• At least two major sloth and wildlife organizations have filed separate criminal complaints. This shows that experts and advocates are taking this seriously and pushing for accountability.
• Additional petitions have appeared because of ours. Public pressure is building. People are paying attention. That’s good — but it’s not the finish line.
But let’s be absolutely clear: nothing has changed yet.
No charges. No penalties. No shutdown. No official action. No protections put in place.
There is a lot of chatter, a lot of noise, and a lot of attention — but no actual result.
This is why your signatures still matter.
What You Can Do Right Now
Whenever you see an article about this situation — whether it’s on Facebook, X, Instagram, or in your news feed — if you feel comfortable doing so, drop the petition link in the comments section of those articles.
Why?
Because if their readers care enough to read it, and the journalists care enough to write it, then those voices can join ours. People want to help — they just don’t always know how.
Give them the path.
Every signature adds pressure. Every share keeps the spotlight on. Every voice makes it harder for this to be ignored.
We will not declare victory until there is real, measurable action — not just talk.
Thank you for standing up for these animals. We keep going until you cannot mistake justice’s roar.
