Justice for the African Family from Hamburg Experiencing Police Violence and State Arbitrary Actions

We demand: An independent investigation, justice, and an end to the mistreatment by state institutions against the family!

Imagine this:

Your mother is brutally beaten by the police in her own home – so severely that she loses consciousness and becomes blind in one eye.
Your autistic brother is tortured, imprisoned, and separated from his family in a care home for 15 years.
And your other brother, who supports the family financially and is the most important person for the autistic boy, is sentenced by the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office and district court to one year in prison – even though he is innocent – just because he tried to protect his brother when he was attacked by neighbors and police officers.

But that’s not all: the Barmbek District Court, the Hamburg Regional Court, and the public prosecutor’s office are trying to imprison Mrs. Reimer – an innocent mother – and at the same time cover up her cases of massive police violence. All this just so that the public does not learn the truth.

Instead of receiving help, the family has experienced only violence, harassment, and discrimination from the police, courts, and authorities for over 15 years. The Barmbek District Court continues to try to harm the autistic son instead of finally giving him protection and support.

This is the nightmare that Mrs. Reimer and her family have endured in Hamburg for many years.

---

On November 14, 2024, Mrs. R. became the victim of a brutal police operation in her home in Hamburg.
However, this incident is only the latest in a long series of acts of violence and abuse committed by state authorities against Mrs. R. and her family.
Racist motives are clearly visible in these cases.

Repeated police violence against a 60-year-old woman and her autistic child.

 Incidents and Events

---

1. The Incident in which the Bergedorf Police Attempted Murder against the Family (2009)

In 2009, Mrs. R. became a victim of police violence in Hamburg-Bergedorf.
She was brutally attacked and beaten by several male police officers in her apartment in Hamburg – it was an attempted murder by the officers.

Mrs. R., a petite, small woman without any means of resistance, was beaten unconscious by the male officers. Even after she was unconscious and had lost a lot of blood, the police continued to beat her. It was because Mrs. R. was fighting for her autistic son, who had been taken from the family due to racist motives.

The children were sprayed with pepper spray and also beaten by the officers from Bergedorf, Hamburg. They were unable to help their mother.

The police brought Mrs. R. to the hospital, where a doctor refused to treat her. The police officer downplayed the incident. The doctor and the officer conspired together and denied Mrs. R. any medical help. She lost a great amount of blood, suffered multiple nasal fractures and serious bodily injuries, and at that time was still unconscious.
When Mrs. R. regained consciousness, she heard the doctor and the police officer discussing the situation.
Since the beating and the denied treatment, she has been blind in her right eye. Despite the obvious severity of the incident, it was never properly investigated – the involved officers and the doctor remained unpunished.

The Bergedorf District Court, known for its racist structures, convicted Mrs. R. only because she fought for her son, who had been abused in a home. The public prosecutor’s office and the Hamburg Regional Court did not take the case seriously, did not listen to Mrs. R., and ignored her injuries. Instead, she was unjustly convicted.

To this day, the public prosecutor’s office and the courts are trying to cover up the incident and continue to make Mrs. R.’s life difficult.

2. The Incident at St. Nicolaiheim “Sonneck” – Free Ridge Petition

The autistic son of Mrs. R. was not only abused and tortured at St. Nicolaiheim Sonneck 2, Schuby, but was also deprived of his freedom. He was locked daily in a room without a mattress or blanket, constantly restrained.

For 15 years, he was not allowed to see his mother or family.
He was kept in a windowless room without heating, without a bed, without sufficient food, and was permanently restrained.

The Bergedorf District Court and the Youth Welfare Office are responsible for this inhumane act. Instead of protecting the family, they destroyed it and intensified the suffering through racially motivated decisions.

The Hamburg Regional Court and the Public Prosecutor’s Office stood by while the autistic boy was abused and deprived of his freedom.

When the family tried to free the boy from the home, the police attacked the family instead of holding those responsible at the home accountable. The Hamburg court used violence against the family.

Through the “Free Ridge” petition and Mrs. R.’s tireless efforts, the boy was eventually freed from the home. But the Barmbek District Court continues to make the family’s life difficult by trying to separate the boy from his mother again and refusing her legal guardianship.

Instead of supporting the family, the Hamburg court is doing everything possible to destroy them financially and psychologically. Even the boy’s brother, his most important caregiver, is to be imprisoned in order to inflict further harm on the family.

To this day, the Hamburg Public Prosecutor’s Office has not filed any charges for these acts of abuse and unlawful imprisonment.
In Germany, a defenseless autistic boy has been tortured by the Hamburg system.

3. The Incident on November 14, 2024

On November 14, 2024, police officers entered the stairwell of Mrs. Reimer’s apartment in Hamburg **without a search warrant**. More than 15 officers were involved, and several police vehicles blocked the street.

Despite repeated requests, no court order was presented, and no accusation was stated. Mrs. R. was denied the right to call her lawyer.
Officers from the LKA (State Criminal Police) threatened the son — an autistic young man — with a weapon.
Mrs. R. and her son were physically assaulted:
Mrs. R. was struck multiple times in the face and other parts of her body, including elbow blows. One officer pressed a gun against her chest and threatened to shoot.
There are recordings of this incident showing how the police treated the family.
Pepper spray was used against her, even though she posed no threat.

Her son was also beaten and violently restrained — an autistic young man.

The officers manipulated evidence by rubbing a cream-like substance on Mrs. R.’s hands in order to fabricate false accusations. They also destroyed cabinets and doors in the apartment.

The consequences for Mrs. R. are visible in the photos:

* Broken nose
* Injuries to face, shoulder, and eye
* Severe pain from pepper spray
* Massive psychological trauma due to being threatened with a firearm

This police operation clearly constituted an attempted murder.

The police falsely accused the son of stealing a cellphone. No cellphone was ever found, nor was there any search warrant or description of an alleged crime.

The Hamburg Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Barmbek District Court are trying to cover up the police officers’ crimes. Instead, Mrs. R. herself is being charged.
Her own complaints, however, are not being investigated. She is denied access to her own case files, making it impossible for her to defend herself. The public prosecutor’s office and the regional court are denying the family their basic constitutional rights — in a country like Germany.

And that’s not all: the family continues to be threatened by Hamburg authorities and experiences ongoing police violence.
The brother who stands up for the family has been wrongly sentenced to one year in prison simply because he tried to prevent his family from being mistreated by neighbors and the police.

This demonstrates systemic racism within the Hamburg police and judiciary.

There also exists a video of the incident, recorded by the son.
The case has become known internationally, including in the United Kingdom.

What becomes clear here is this:

Systematic, deeply rooted racism and structural discrimination within the police, judiciary, and state institutions in Hamburg.

A shocking pattern of violence, cover-ups, and impunity that has targeted the same family again and again for over 15 years.

A mother who tirelessly fights for her children is not protected — instead, she is criminalized, deprived of her rights, and once again becomes a victim of violence.
