The Issue

Signing either is fine, we will be sending both

Summer Day and her children deserve a complete, transparent, and properly conducted investigation.

We are calling for the immediate reopening of the investigation into their deaths, along with a fully independent third-party review of how the original case was handled.

Protocols exist to protect lives, protect evidence, and protect the truth. When those protocols are not followed, families are left without answers and communities are left without trust.

This case was closed without the level of independent oversight and protocol enforcement that is expected in complex cases involving multi-agency emergency response and potential procedural failures. When that happens, accountability is lost and public confidence is damaged.

No family should have to fight this hard just to make sure an investigation meets established standards.

What We Are Demanding

1. Immediate Reopening of the Case

A full reopening of the investigation into the deaths of Summer Day-Stewart and her children using current best-practice investigative standards.

2. Independent Third-Party Investigation

Appointment of a fully independent investigative body with no ties to the original responding agencies to review:

• Evidence collection and handling

• Scene processing

• Inter-agency coordination

• Investigative decisions that led to case closure

Independent review is critical when public trust and procedural integrity are in question.

3. Protocol Compliance Review for All Responding Personnel

A full professional standards review of all firefighters, police officers, and officials involved in the original response and investigation.

Where protocol violations are identified, appropriate disciplinary action must follow.

Protocol is not optional. It exists to save lives and preserve justice.

4. Formal Review of the 2022 Domestic Violence Incident Involving Walter Sean Stewart

We are calling for:

• A formal review or reopening of the documented 2022 domestic violence incident involving Walter Sean Stewart

• Administrative review of how the incident was handled

• Verification that all required reporting, investigative, and employment protocols were followed

5. Review of Employment Status and PTSD-Related Benefits (If Applicable)

If any disability status, PTSD classification, or related compensation is currently being provided to Walter Sean Stewart, we are calling for:

• Independent review of eligibility and documentation

• Verification that benefits were granted according to policy

• Suspension of benefits if found to be improperly granted pending investigation results

Public resources must be administered with transparency and integrity.

Why This Matters

If protocol can be ignored once, it can be ignored again.

If independent review can be bypassed once, it can be bypassed again.

Accountability protects families, communities, and future victims.

This is about justice for Summer and her children — and about making sure no other family has to fight this same fight.
