‼️ This is for my kitten Sumi 🐈‍⬛, and for all animals who are captured illegally and killed wrongfully. There has to be consequences for these actions. I’m calling for people to sign my petition that they want to see justice for Sumi, and to ensure this never happens to any other pet ever again that laws are either enforced or changed regarding the capture and handling of domesticated type animals, and the prohibition of killing domesticated type of animals by inhumane means ‼️

August 20th 

I was running late for work and my kitty bolted out the door, he had a brand new AirTag collar so I didn’t worry too much, especially because he never left from around the house. My boyfriend didn’t leave the house till about an hour later and he tried calling for Sumi but Sumi didn’t come. While I was at work his AirTag pinged at a farm 20 miles away from home, I thought that was weird but figured I would go there after work, as I’m a nurse and I wasn’t able to just leave to go to the location. He was pinging there all day, at about 4:00pm my boyfriend went out to the house which was a farm in the middle of nowhere not near any other houses, he saw some children and their mother he asked about our kitty and they said they had not seen him and did not know anything about our kitty. He left and came home, about an hour later we got another ping at that very same house so we all went out there together and we told them he is still pinging here and showed them and they asserted they never saw our Sumi , I asked if we can just look around and they said to go ahead. We couldn’t find him so we left defeated but had hope that maybe his AirTag would ping somewhere else tomorrow or he would be found and turned in. 

August 21st. 

Early in morning I checked the AirTag and he was pinging at a new location! At a building even further away! I immediately got the kids in the car and said “we are gonna go get Sumi!” I drove to the ping location which was a vet clinic. When I went in there I said “oh my gosh do you have my kitty he is pinging here, he has an AirTag collar on ☺️ I’ve been looking for him since yesterday” I was then pulled aside and told that a man from the home we went to yesterday brought our kitty into the clinic dead, he had been shot and killed out there at their home, the vet also told me that the man said our kitty was brought to their home by someone. The vet told me he would give us Sumis ashes for free 😔.. he also handed me a sticky note with the man who brought him there’s name and phone number. I searched him on Facebook and discovered he is my neighbors brother. I contacted the man and asked for answers, he didn’t respond to me until I told him I was getting police involved because I know my kitten was taken by the neighbors and dropped off at their home where they shot and killed him. When he called me he insisted that he knew nothing about my kitten being dropped off at his house, he didn’t know anything and had nothing to do with anything. I contacted police to do something and they said they will do nothing. The man met with me to give me Sumis collar back which it is odd to me that he kept it and did not leave it with the vet, only reason I can think is the vet told me that he explained to this man that the collar has and AirTag and that I would be coming to the clinic soon, maybe he hoped I wouldn’t have seen him ping there. I don’t know.. 

August 22nd 

When my neighbor pulled up I confronted him about taking Sumi there. He said he caught him in a trap he has set up in his garage, didn’t see a collar on him and CALLED his brother in law and got PERMISSION to bring our kitten out there (the man who said he knew nothing, the family who told us two times the same day Sumi was murdered that they knew nothing).. now it makes no sense to me that none of them saw his collar at any point in this transfer.. but that aside the lies are stacking up. My neighbor admits to having a trap in his garage of which he has captured cats in and he then either takes them to this farm or drops them off somewhere else instead of calling animal control or taking them to a shelter. I told my neighbor Sumi was shot and killed and he seemed shocked and said he was so sorry he swears he didn’t see a collar or know that Sumi was ours. I want justice for Sumi. All of the events that unfolded were actions of animal cruelty.. how many of my neighbors have lost a cat and beloved family member to these people? They can tell me their lies and their sorries but I will never get my Sumi back.. I will never get to watch him play with the kids again, or hold him and feel him nuzzle and purr on me, he was the sweetest kitten I have ever known. He was only 4 almost 5 months old when he was brutally murdered… I want these people held accountable for what they have done. #justiceforsumi 🐈‍⬛
