Subject: Petition to Demand Justice for Sombra: A Call for Accountability from Air France

We, the undersigned, are calling on Air France to take immediate and decisive action in the case of Sombra, a beloved dog who was lost during a flight from Argentina to Morocco.

On [22/8], Ramón Alberto Piriz, (Cruz Novillo Astrada’s groom)  was traveling on Air France Flight AF1381, which departed at [6:15 am] from [Heathrow Airport] and arrived at [8:35 am] in [Charles de Gaulle]. Due to airline policy regarding weight restrictions, Sombra, whose weight exceeded the cabin limit, was required to be transported in the cargo hold. Tragically, upon arrival in Paris, Ramón Alberto Piriz (owner's friend) was informed that Sombra was missing.

Despite numerous attempts to seek information and assistance, Cruz Novillo Astrada has received no meaningful update from Air France regarding Sombra’s whereabouts. This situation has left Cruz Novillo Astrada in a state of profound distress and has raised serious concerns about the safety and accountability measures in place for pets traveling with Air France.

We believe that every passenger, whether human or animal, deserves the highest standard of care when traveling. Sombra’s disappearance is not just a heartbreaking incident; it is a failure of the airline to fulfill its duty of care.

We demand the following from Air France:

Immediate and Transparent Communication: Air France must provide Cruz Novillo Astrada with immediate updates on the efforts being made to locate Sombra, including any footage, records, or communications that may shed light on what happened.
A Thorough Investigation: Air France must launch an immediate and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sombra's disappearance, with the findings made public.
Strengthened Animal Safety Protocols: Air France must review and strengthen its protocols for the transportation of animals to ensure that no pet is ever lost again under their care.
Compensation for Distress: Air France must offer appropriate compensation to Cruz Novillo Astrada for the emotional distress and any other losses suffered as a result of this incident.
Public Accountability: Air France must publicly acknowledge their responsibility in this incident and commit to making the necessary changes to prevent future occurrences.

We stand in solidarity with Cruz Novillo Astrada and Sombra, and we call on Air France to do the right thing by ensuring the safe return of Sombra and implementing the changes needed to protect pets in their care.
