JUSTICE FOR SHANIYA DAVIS!

The Issue

SHANIYA DAVIS DESERVES JUSTICE. But it seems that her story has fallen off of the national radar. Shaniya is the 5 year old girl from Fayetteville, NC who was trafficked by her biological mother for child prostitution to pay off a drug debt. Mario McNeill is the monster Shaniya was sold to, who also raped and killed her. Antoinette Davis was released on bond in the amount of $51,000, while Mario has been detained since the crime. Both, have had their pretrials continued 11 times. The evidence and charges are solid against them to bring a trial, but the district court keeps delaying a pre-trial. Not only this, but the handling of the case has been the subject of scrutiny ever since the wrongful release of Antoinette Davis in February 2010. Everything from the DSS withholding information from the police about the investigation of Antoniette's other child, to not turning over all evidence of the allegations of abuse that Shaniya suffered while in her mother's care. There were also accusations that Brenda Reid Jackson, Cumberland County DSS Director, ordered some case workers to delete files relating to the abuse reports. As well as, the former District Attorney Ed Grannis, Jr, accusing the DSS of corruption, outright, and requesting the SBI for North Carolina to probe the case. All of this information is made public, and has been substantiated. However, with elements of corruption, and with the 11 pretrial continuances, Shaniya's case barely floats above the surface, on even on the local scene. I do not feel that her case has received enough attention, since her funeral. It is as if everyone in the national network simply forgot about her entirely. I feel that Caylee Anthony's case is just as equally important as Shaniya Davis' case and both little girls, deserve justice and national attention. But I feel, as many others do, that Shaniya's deferred justice should be in the public light as well. Please don't forget her. For justice's sake. Her story needs to be heard again. We can't allow her story to remain in the dark any longer.Thank you. I will be glad to answer any questions, or participate in any interviews, if needed. We just want to see this case back on the national front. We want justice for Shaniya Davis. Help us get the word out. Thank you.
