A teen went missing from my hometown, Salem Oregon, at West Salem High school, and was actually reported missing around 11pm on September 16th, their name was Zackary (goes by Serena) Christopher Brenneman. They were a trans woman who was incredibly disrespected by peers and her own family because of her identity. She was missing for almost two weeks when a body was reported in the willamette river and is suspected to be Zackary/Serena. They did not investigate enough and are ruling it an accidental drowning instead of looking further because there was no obvious signs of foul play. I feel that this is not right for Zackary/Serena and that they need to investigate further since 2 weeks of missing with no signs of life just for it to be ruled an “accident” does not seem correct. Another reason for me believing that this is not what happened is the fact that there has been many dead bodies found recently especially teens and attempted murders even just in this general area. There is definitely information that is being missed in this case and the police department should investigate further. If they do not investigate further and leave it ruled an accident Zackary/Serena and possibly many other teens could lose out on the justice they deserve for being taken so soon.
