Justice for Samuel Bird: We demand action from Edmonton police department.

Justice for Samuel Bird: We demand action from Edmonton police department.
The Issue
Petition for Immediate Police Action in the Disappearance of Samuel Bird
Samuel Bird is a 14-year-old Indigenous boy who went missing in West Edmonton on June 1st. He left a friend’s house around 11 PM and never came home. Samuel was not a runaway. He was a loving son and brother who always checked in with his mom and dad. He didn’t have a phone, money, or means to disappear voluntarily. His family immediately reported him missing.
The Edmonton police dismissed it. They said he was just “being a teenager.”
Since then, horrifying videos and photos have surfaced online showing a boy being brutally beaten—many believe it’s Samuel. The images are too graphic to ignore. His mother has received threats, taunts, and extortion attempts while begging the police to investigate. Still, there have been:
No ground searches organized
No use of cadaver dogs
No drones deployed
No river or landfill searches
No Amber Alert
No arrests, despite people bragging online about being involved in Samuel’s death
Samuel’s mother and father have had to rent their own boat. They walk the riverbanks alone. They are doing the job the police won’t.
Why? Why has this case received so little attention? Six weeks passed before the police even began interviewing people. Six weeks for stories to be cleaned up, evidence destroyed, and momentum lost.
We are demanding:
Full-scale searches (land, river, and landfill)
Use of cadaver dogs and drones
Protection for Samuel’s family
Investigation into the online threats and videos
An Amber Alert and national media coverage
Accountability for the inaction and systemic failure of the Edmonton police department in dealing with missing and murdered indigenous people.
Samuel matters. His family matters. No mother and father should have to search for their child’s body alone while their cries for help are ignored.
If you believe every child matters, act like it. Sign this petition. Demand justice. Demand action. Help bring Samuel home
