In a shocking and heartbreaking incident, Sahil Sharma, an environmentalist & animal rights activist, was brutally beaten and assaulted by police officers during a peaceful protest outside the Government Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre cum Hospital at Rohini Sector 27, Delhi.

The animal lovers gathered there after seeing horrifying reports of illegal activities and cruelty to dogs inside the government-run center. Instead of addressing the inhumane treatment of animals, the Delhi Police turned against those who were standing up for the poor animals.

Sahil Sharma was specifically targeted and suffered a vicious assault at the hands of the police with a broken/chipped teeth.

1. Beaten mercilessly with sticks and rods
2. Slapped and punched repeatedly across the face and body
3. Spectacles smashed against his face, leaving bruises and blood
4. Clothes torn and nearly choked in the scuffle
5. His silver chain and watch were forcefully snatched along with wallet containing near about 8400 rupees cash.
6. Hit so badly that he fell unconscious on the road, lying bloodied & naked.

This horrific abuse of power cannot and must not be ignored. Peaceful protesters exercising their constitutional rights were attacked instead of protected.

• Justice for SAHIL SHARMA – Register a FIR against the police officers responsible for this brutal assault, and ensure swift suspension and prosecution under law.
