An 8-month old American Bully, named Roxie, was brutally killed in Cooperative Villa, Ajah in Lagos state, Nigeria, in the month of March, 2023 by a resident who claimed Roxie held his family hostage for 5 hours. There is no evidence to underpin this claim. Roxie got missing from her home and strayed into her killers compound despite pleas from the owner. The owner (Vincent Okoli) has video evidences to support his claim.

The authorities have not taken meaningful response due to pressures from influential residents from the estate to sweep the case under the carpet. Animal Protection Organization of Nigeria is calling on the Inspector General of Police National Headquarter, Abuja to step into this case and have all the accomplices arrested and prosecuted.
