We, the undersigned, are calling for immediate action and justice following a traumatic incident of sexual assault that occurred on the morning of 21 June 2025 involving one of our community members.We as the community want the perpetrator to be denied bail.

After a night out with friends, the victim who had been promised a safe lift home was misled, taken advantage of, and raped by a man who offered to drive her home. Despite her clear communication about where she lived, the perpetrator deliberately took her in another direction and committed the assault in an isolated area in his car. She managed to escape and seek help, but the trauma and violation she experienced cannot be ignored.

We believe no one should ever be left unprotected, unheard, or without justice after such a horrific violation. This is not just about one survivor, it is about the safety of every person in our community.

We urge the legal authorities and the community in Whittlesea to consider the gravity of the allegations and the potential risks of granting bail. By doing so, we not only support my friend, the victim, but also stand up for the safety and security of our entire community.
