The Issue

My name is Hannah Lafond, and I am writing this petition to ask for justice and accountability regarding a dog named Rosie (also known as Truce).

Over the past month, I volunteered, donated, and fostered Rosie through Pet Save Lively. During this time, Rosie didn’t just stay with us — she bonded deeply with me, my baby, our home, and our daily routine. She was safe, loved, exercised, trained, and thriving.

I followed every step of the adoption process. I submitted the application, attended the scheduled interview, and showed up on time — with my baby — where we waited quietly in the lobby as instructed.

Despite this, I was later called a “nuisance” and described as “unstable” by the owner/manager, not because of any concern for Rosie’s care, but because my baby and I were present in the lobby for the interview.

Shortly after, Rosie was removed from our care, without a fair discussion, transparent reasoning, or consideration for the emotional impact on the dog or my family.

I want to be clear: every other volunteer and staff member I interacted with was kind, compassionate, and professional. This issue is not with the organization’s mission — it is about how this specific situation was handled.

Rosie was not neglected. She was not unsafe. She was not mistreated.

She was loved, and she had already found her family.

What We Are Asking For:

Rosie (Truce) be returned to the foster home that applied to adopt her
Transparency and accountability be upheld in foster-to-adopt processes
Rescue organizations commit to fair, respectful treatment of foster families
Decisions impacting animals prioritize the dog’s best interest, not personal judgment.

Why This Matters

Foster families open their homes and hearts to save animals. When trust is broken, it discourages good people from helping — and animals suffer the consequences.

Rosie deserves stability, love, and a home where she was already thriving.

Please stand with us, share this petition, and help bring Rosie home.

Thank you for your compassion and support —
