Justice for Raven Ishnai Adams.

The Issue

On the 16th of July 2026, Raven Ishnai Adams aged 24, was killed in a hit and run incident whilst she was on her way  home from her evening shift at The Thirsty Goat Pub in Belfast.

Raven was walking on the footpath on York Street, Belfast with her co-worker, when a vehicle mounted the footpath, fatally injuring Raven and causing severe, life-changing injuries to her co-worker. Raven was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Since the incident, the driver who has been charged in connection with Raven’s death has remained in custody on remand. We understand that concerns regarding the risk of further offending have been central to the decision to refuse bail thus far.

On Wednesday 28th October 2026, the defendant made a further application for bail, which, if granted, would have resulted in him being released back into the Belfast community while awaiting trial. Statistically, individuals who have been granted bail, have a significant likelihood of committing further crimes while awaiting sentencing. This is a risk that the Belfast community should not have to take. This bail hearing however, was adjourned. The defendant may wish to apply again at some point going forwards, of which we will continue to petition against.

As Ravens family, we are heavily against this individual walking freely until correct, fair and legal justice has been served. This petition, we understand and respect has no sway on the legal justice system, but we believe we have the right to have our voices heard, as too, do those who knew and loved Raven, anyone who has lost their child or loved one in a similar manner, or indeed concerned members of the public.

The defendant faces serious criminal charges, including causing death by dangerous driving. We understand that he maintains he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. This does not lessen our concerns regarding the circumstances that led to Ravens death or the potential risk of further harm.

Raven was a young, beautiful, kind, caring, loving, extremely talented young woman who had her life and bright future taken from her due to the actions of the defendant. In order to show a united stance and outcry regarding the defendant being granted bail, we ask you to stand with us in a show of solidarity. We need your signatures, and we need you to share this petition far and wide. We ask you to do this for Raven.

This petition is not about revenge. But we are understandably angry, we are heartbroken, and we are concerned for the safety of the public regarding this individual once he is released back onto the streets.

We are also concerned for Ravens young friends who since Ravens death, have felt a lot of fear and anxiety due to the incident itself. We believe these feelings will heighten once the defendant is back within the community before serving appropriate legal justice. Raven and her co-worker were innocent pedestrians, minding their own business, walking home after work. Now Ravens young friends and others within the community understandably no longer feel safe walking the footpaths of Belfast once dark.

We cannot bring Raven back. We cannot undo what happened on the 16th July 2026, and we respect that the criminal justice process must take its course in a fair and legal manner without any outside interference. We by no means wish to incite any public disorder. What we do intend however, is to make our feelings heard by presenting this petition on the next bail hearing.

Please stand with us, sign this petition and share to support justice for Raven.

With respect, hope, justice and much love, we thank you,

Signed Ravens Family.
