JUSTICE FOR PIPSQUEAK

The Issue

The TRUTH on Pipsqueak the ponies DROWNING and the cruel acts of Harriet Amber Midgley that led to this.

Distressing pictures and information below. Viewer discretion is advised.

Harriet moved onto my yard around the end of 2021/ start of 2022 and left towards the end of 2023. Harriet was my friend. We went everywhere together. She would frequently stay over, come over on Christmas, ride with me. My mum thought of her as another daughter. We would babysit her son whilst she rode. Harriet very quickly took advantage of our kindness.

As a DIY livery Harriet was the laziest, messiest person we have ever had. She would leave littler in her stables, never put hay in, never fill waters up etc. She would leave for Bristol (we live in west yorkshire) to see her boyfriend for weeks on end, with little or no warning. Then would refuse to pay the holiday cover. She then let her guard down and was frequently caught, and called out on not getting the vet for her horses, and hitting them both quite harshly.

Multiple times a day, pip would escape. He has crossed the river and come off our property on multiple occasions. He went through barbed wire, wooden fencing, electric, across rivers.

First few pictures are texts between me and my mum. These were during the time that she was stabled on my yard.

Harriet decided to move down the lane to her “uncles” field. 0.5 miles away from my yard- 3 minute drive, 11 minute walk. Remember this. This is because she wanted her own project to fix up & the rent was cheaper.

As a single mum, working as a call handler for West yorkshire police, Harriet did not have the funding or time for such a big project.

The land was in complete ruins and this is where these two horses lived. The previous cattle and pig shed was burned down by teens in covid. The cars that were abandoned “mid fix up” still stood there. litter and scrap metal sticking out of the ground. Barbed wire, ivy and thorn bushes everywhere. Wooden pallets tied together with bailing twine as a fence. Horses stabled in their own urine, faeces and litter.

The last time that i saw Pip alive was on the 1st of December. This is when he had escaped and i had gone to look for him. My fiance and i could clearly his spine underneath a heavy rug. I asked Harriet to sell Pip to me for £2,500. Now as a professional horsewoman, Pip was not worth half of this, especially in the condition he was in. This is why i found it incredibly shocking that my offer was turned down. I offered Harriet the chance to move back to my yard for £200 a month for both horses. This was a lot less than my other liveries were paying, and that she was paying for her land. This was also turned down.

The start of January we had the worst snow storm. It lasted a week and temperatures dropped to -10 degrees C. It started on the 5th of January and left on the 14th.

Harriet arrived on my yard on Friday 10th January to ask if we had seen Pip. Pip was an escape artist at mine, so this was no surprise. He frequently made his way back to mine. My family and I (me being in my second trimester in my pregnancy) spent the evening searching for pip. Other people walked miles till late at night too. Harriet was at home. Pip had been missing since Monday/ Tuesday.

Pip was found Saturday morning dead. He never left Harriets property. He was found in the river. His nose underwater was proof that he had DROWNED. Harriet did not come to see her pony on Saturday. She did not come to check on her other horse Romeo either.

Pip had climbed down a steep river bank in a desperate attempt to get water. Why? because his water was frozen over. We have proof from CCTV that the last time these horses were fed was on new year’s eve- NOT by Harriet but by a concerned neighbour. I would have happily walked down and fed the horses if i knew she couldn’t get down herself, she knows i would’ve. She knows how far my kindness goes, and exactly how much i love and appreciate horses. Not only this, but there were multiple other people who offered help, but we were all refused.

After myself and pips previous owners got his body out of the river. We pulled back his rug to see a truly disgusting sight. Pip was severely malnourished. It was clear to see that he was too weak to get himself back up. This was months of neglect. Months of starvation for a horse to look like this.

This was NOT a FREAK ACCIDENT Harriet. Stop lying. This was months of neglect and abuse. HARRIET AMBER MIDGLEY KILLED PIPSQUEAK.
