This petition aims at capturing the attention of the concerned and to ensure that last of the survivors as well as the victims of the Pettimudi landslide disaster in Munnar that costed more than a dozen life gets the justice they deserve. The affected mostly are the Tamil-Dalit labourers who had been working in the Munnar Tata Plantations for centuries devoid of property or land on their own. The settlements are more than 130 years old, provided by the Tata Company. The living conditions are adverse and inhabitable as their pay less than 500₹ isn't enough to satisfy even the basic needs.

On the grounds that the marginalized sections of the society receive the justice they deserve, we urge the Govt. Of Kerala and rest of the state and central administrative departments to prioritize issues of social, economical and financial station of the under privileged. Government of Kerala should immediately:

1) Raise of compensation from 5 lakh covering all the affectation into consideration.
2)Provide the affected and the labourers in suffering with better living conditions including provision of property as well as building homes as government initiative.
3) Develop infrastructure in areas of transport, communication, electricity and other basic facilities.
4) If a zone is prone to natural disaster precautionary measures and effective alert system including timely relocation of the people to better habitable conditions.
