We are pleased to share an important development in our continuing quest for fairness and equal treatment for retired employees of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), representing the Office of the President through the Executive Secretary, the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations (GCG), and PAGCOR, has formally entered its appearance before the Supreme Court in our case.

The respondents have requested an extension until July 8, 2026 to file their official Comment on our Petition for Certiorari and Mandamus.

While this means additional waiting, it is important to understand what this development signifies.

The Supreme Court has required the respondents to answer our Petition and explain their position. This means that the issues we have raised regarding the unequal treatment of similarly situated PAGCOR retirees are now being addressed through the judicial process before the highest court of the land.

For many of our retirees, this case is not merely about financial benefits. It is about fairness, equal protection, and recognition of decades of dedicated public service.

Our petition seeks to address a situation where retired employees who devoted comparable years of service to the same institution have been treated differently with respect to retirement benefits, largely based on the timing of their retirement. We firmly believe that this issue deserves careful consideration under the principles of justice and equal treatment.

We respect the legal process and welcome the opportunity for all parties to fully present their positions before the Supreme Court.

As we await the respondents' formal Comment, we remain hopeful, united, and committed to pursuing this cause through lawful and peaceful means.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our petitioners, supporters, families, and everyone who continues to stand with us. Your encouragement and support have helped bring this matter to national attention and before the Supreme Court for resolution.

This journey has required patience and perseverance, but we remain steadfast in our belief that every public servant deserves to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect.

Thank you for continuing to support the PAGCOR Left Behind Retirees.
