Update: Respondents Request Additional Time to File Their Comments Before the Supreme Court

We wish to keep our supporters informed of the latest development in our petition before the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), representing the government respondents (Office of the President, GCG and PAGCOR), has filed a Second Motion for Extension of Time to submit their official Comment on our Petition. If granted by the Court, the respondents will have until 7 August 2026 to file their responses.

While this extends the timeline of the proceedings, such requests are not uncommon in cases involving multiple government agencies and significant constitutional and legal issues.

The filing of the respondents' Comments is an important stage of the judicial process. It will allow the government to present its legal position, after which our legal team will have the opportunity to file a Reply addressing their arguments before the case proceeds to the Court's deliberation.

Although progress in litigation can sometimes appear slow, every procedural step moves our case forward. We remain committed to pursuing this petition through lawful and peaceful means, guided by our belief that public servants who faithfully dedicated years of service deserve equal treatment under the law.

We are grateful to our legal counsel, our petitioners, and every supporter who has stood with us throughout this journey. Your encouragement continues to strengthen our resolve.

If you have not yet done so, we invite you to share this petition with your family, friends, colleagues, and fellow retirees. Every signature helps bring greater public awareness to our advocacy for fairness, equal protection, and justice for retired PAGCOR employees who were excluded from the CPCS retirement benefits.

Thank you for standing with us.

Justice delayed is not justice denied, so long as we continue to stand together.
